Many of the show's villains have perfectly understandable (if not excusable) reasons for their evil deeds.Ĭase in point is the show's "Big Bad" David Xanatos (voiced by Jonathan Frakes). And yet, for all the black-hooded thugs on Gargoyles, the show offers a surprisingly nuanced portrayal of its numerous villains, allowing them to grow, change and sometimes even become the good guys.
